Our purpose in bringing this collection of essays together was to insert craft into the growing contemporary debate about what it means to work with others.
Collaboration Through Craft describes exchanges between individuals and across disciplinary boundaries that are freely entered into, and that through joint endeavour leave one or both of those sides significantly changed. The book has its origins in the Pairings project, led by Alice Kettle in 2008 and the Pairings: Conversations, Collaborations, Materials conference, co-curated by Alice Kettle and I in 2011.
